Back to Back BTB Carbon Steel Pre Galvanized Hot Dip Galvanized HDG Stainless Steel SS 304 316 Slotted Strut Channel 41*21 with Regular and Anti Seismic Flange
Definition and Structure
Strut channels are steel channels has a cross-section in the shape of a 'C', sometimes they are also called by C shaped steel. It is made from strip steel through a cold-bending forming process. Commonly, it has an open-ended structure, with flanges on both sides and a web in the middle, resembling the capital letter 'C.' A protective layer is formed on its surface through galvanizing treatment, effectively enhancing its performance. Strut Channels can also be used as a supporting bracket for cable trays or other construction materials.
We produce both plain channels and slotted channels depend on your project requirements. Plain channels require higher load capacity but slotted channels are more flexible to install different various accessories.

Material and Composition
Basic Material: It is based on carbon steel, with common grades such as Q195 and Q235. These steels have good toughness and strength, meeting the mechanical property requirements of different scenarios.
Galvanized Layer: The galvanized layer is formed on the surface of Strut channel through hot-dip galvanizing or electro-galvanizing processes. The thickness of the hot-dip galvanized layer usually ranges from tens to hundreds of microns, with strong adhesion and good corrosion resistance. The electro-galvanized layer is relatively thinner but has a smooth and uniform surface, also providing certain protective capabilities. The main component of the galvanized layer is zinc, and it may contain a small amount of elements such as aluminum and magnesium to optimize its performance.
Characteristics
High Strength and Lightweight: With a reasonable cross-sectional shape and high-quality steel, galvanized Strut channel is high-strength while being relatively lightweight. This makes it convenient for transportation and installation and helps to reduce the self-weight of building structures.
Good Corrosion Resistance: The galvanized layer on the surface can effectively prevent the steel from coming into contact with air and moisture, significantly enhancing its corrosion resistance and extending its service life. It is suitable for harsh environments such as damp basements and chemical workshops.
Good Workability:It has excellent cold bending and welding properties. It can be easily processed, such as cutting, bending, and punching. It meets the installation and combination requirements of different projects and can adapt to complex building structures and industrial equipment requirements.
Aesthetic Appearance:The galvanized layer presents a bright metallic luster, making the surface of the Strut channel smooth and clean. This has advantages in construction and decoration projects with appearance requirements.
Optional Perforation:Depending on actual usage requirements, galvanized Strut channel can be optionally perforated. Parameters such as the size, spacing, and quantity of the perforations can be customized according to specific engineering purposes. After perforation, the galvanized Strut channel can achieve better connection or weight reduction effects in some application scenarios, such as in cable trays and ventilation duct fixings. At the same time, it can also meet specific functional requirements such as drainage and ventilation.
Specifications and Dimensions
Galvanized Strut channel comes in a wide range of specifications. The height is typically between 21-82mm, the width is around 41mm, and the thickness is 1.5 - 6.0mm
Application Fields
Steel Structure Buildings: It is a commonly used component in steel structures. It can be used as purlins and wall girts to support roof and wall materials, effectively transmitting loads and ensuring the stability of the building structure.
Light-steel villas: In the construction of light-steels, a galvanized C-shaped channel is widely used in wall studs and floor joists, providing reliable structural support. Its lightweight characteristic is beneficial for rapid construction and reducing the foundation load.
Movable Prefabricated Buildings: The frame structure of movable prefabricated buildings often uses galvanized Strut channel. Due to its good workability and corrosion resistance, it can be quickly assembled into buildings of different scales and shapes to meet the needs of temporary residences and offices.
Equipment Supports:In industrial plants, many equipment supports and foundations are made of galvanized Strut channel, such as air conditioning units, ventilation equipment, and pipeline supports. The steel can be customized according to the size and weight of the equipment to provide stable support.
Warehouse Shelving: In the warehouse shelving system, it is often used to make the beams and columns of the shelves. Its high strength and good load-bearing capacity can meet the storage needs of various goods, and the galvanized layer can prevent the shelves from rusting and corroding in a damp warehouse environment.
Production Process
Uncoiling: Place the coiled strip steel on the uncoiler. Rotating the uncoiler will uncoil the strip steel, preparing it for subsequent processing.
Cold-bending Forming:The uncoiled strip of steel enters the cold-bending forming unit. It is gradually bent into a 'C' shape through a series of rollers. The rollers' shape and size are adjusted according to the specifications of the Strut channel to ensure forming accuracy and quality.
Cutting:After cold-bending forming, the Strut channel is cut to the required length. Common cutting methods include sawing and shearing.
Perforation (Optional):If perforation is required, the process is carried out after cutting. Through professional perforation equipment, holes are drilled at specific positions on the Strut channel according to the predetermined perforation parameters, such as hole diameter and hole spacing.
Galvanizing Treatment:After cutting or perforation, the Strut channel enters the galvanizing process. There are two methods: hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing. In hot-dip galvanizing, the Strut channel is immersed in molten zinc to form a uniform zinc layer. Electro-galvanizing deposits zinc on the surface of the steel through the principle of electrolysis.
Packaging and Warehousing:After the galvanized Strut channel passes the inspection, it is packaged according to specifications and quantity. It is usually bundled with steel straps or plastic films and stored in the warehouse, waiting for transportation and sales.
